  1. 1 cup Finely ground semolina or suji
  2. 1/2 cup Rice flour
  3. 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  4. 1 cup Fresh yoghurt
  5. 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  6. 1/2 cup Jaggery(grated)
  7. 3 tablespoons Ghee
  8. 10-12 Cashews sliced
  9. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  10. as needed Water
  11. 2 pinch Salt

Steps to make to make Rava Appe

  1. First, take a bowl. Add the finely ground suji, rice flour, coconut, curd, Jaggery, cardamom powder and mix well.
  2. Use wire whisk and mix to a smooth thick batter by adding water in batches. Keep covered for 15 minutes. When jaggery is dissolved, mix well
  3. Then heat 1 tablespoon ghee and add the cashews. Fry for a minute and add the whole mixture to the batter. Stir well.
  4. Then heat an appe pan. Pour a small amount of ghee in each mold.
  5. Then add soda at last in the batter. Whisk well. Then pour spoonfuls of batter in each curved mold. Top with a small cashew piece.
  6. Cover the appe pan and cook from both sides. Turn when base is done and then cook the bottom side till both sides are golden.
  7. Remove and repeat this for the rest of the batter. Serve hot with chutney, ketchup, or coconut milk. Enjoy!
